“Temple State” was an artist collective of highly skilled people who created multi-media installations. The group pioneered a style of theatrically presenting fine art and craft. This unique team of visual artists and theatre technicians worked on a collaborative installation entitled “Satellite Shrine”. The installation was inspired by esoteric energy paths depicted in the iconography of Tantric yoga. The artists brief was to create concentric or circular artworks inspired by one of the seven “Charkas”. The installation toured Australia to major cites, regional towns and alternative spaces. The individual pieces could be displayed in different configurations and adapted to the characteristics of each venue visited.
