The Hand of Glass

Canberra Festival Australia, Hong Kong Arts Festival China, Glastonbury Festival England, 1997 – 2000

The ghostly transparent hand seemed to come alive with haunting super natural powers, radiating light from the palm as if trying to communicate. The idea of a hand with two thumbs was intended to symbolises future human evolution. The installation was originally commissioned by the Canberra Festival as a public artwork for the civic square fountain. It was then mounted at the Hong Kong Arts Festival as part of  the “Hand Over” celebrations, and the next year at the Glastonbury Music Festival and the Circus 2000 Festival in England.
